This was a do or die match for both nations after Russia went down to Spain and Greece went down to Sweden. The match was 2004 Champions vs Gus’s Russia. Greece looked very weak in their opening match playing super defensive could Russia get the win that they so badly needed?

Russia’s odds to take the Euro 2008 crown off Greece are in my eyes worth a punt.
They have been placed at around 12-1/14-1/16-1 to win the entire competition and with them playing good attacking football, Holland and the other leading teams will find it hard to stop them.

Andrei Arshavin and Roman Pavlyuchenko have proved that they won’t be an easy pushover in Euro 2008. After a poor start to Euro 2008, Russia pulled themselves together and sealed a place in the finals thanks to a 2-0 win against Sweden.

Russia will make a stop in Burghausen on their way to this summer’s European Championships, the Russian national team, led by Guus Hiddink, will move into their training camp in Rottach-Egern on the 25th May, where they will prepare for their Euro 2008 Group D matches.
